+ + + "Heartvest Season" - BHG's 40K Halloween Special Event + + +
+ + Event Overview:
Basic Mission Setup:
+ Battlefield contains 12 terrain features, divided as follows:
• 4 Large (primary line-of-sight blockers)
• 4 Medium*(scatter or dense terrain)
• 4 Small (barricades, craters, obstacles)
--------------------------------------------
+ + Event Rules + +
+ Event Mission Rule — "Stab in the Warp"
When a unit selects a target to Shoot or declare a Charge, that unit must first take a Battleshock test.
If that test is failed, the unit must instead target the closest visible enemy unit for that attack or charge (if any).
+ Event Secondary Objective — "For the Gourden Throne"
After deployment, players alternate placing 13 Pumpkin Objective Markers wholly within No Man’s Land.
"Purging Pumpkins"
A unit can perform the Exorcise Action while within 1" of a Pumpkin Objective Marker.
This Action is completed at the end of that player’s turn.
When the Action is completed, remove that Pumpkin Objective Marker from the battlefield.
"Root of All Evil"
At the end of each player’s turn, for each Pumpkin Objective Marker that has one or more units within 3", roll a D6.
Each unit within 3" of that marker suffers that many mortal wounds.
Scoring:
> 3VP each time that player completes the Exorcise Action while within 1" of a Pumpkin Objective Marker (remove that marker).
> D6 VP each time, at the end of a player’s turn, for each Pumpkin Objective:
• If only one player has units within range, that player scores the rolled amount (to a maximum of 6VP).
• If both players have units within range, no Victory Points are scored for that marker. *the pumpkin’s evil cannot decide whom to claim.*
--------------------------------------------
+ + Mission 1 – "Snik-or-Treat" + +
Deployment: 12" Long Edge Deployment
+ Scenario Rules
"The Candy Crusade"
After deployment, each player selects one unit with the BATTLELINE keyword to be their TRICK-OR-TREATERS.
If that unit has the INFANTRY keyword, it gains the Stealth ability.
This unit may not have any attached CHARACTERS.
+ Mission Scoring:
At the end of each player’s turn, score the following:
> 5VP each time that player’s TRICK-OR-TREATERS unit successfully completes an Action while in base contact with a unique terrain feature (each terrain feature can be scored once per player).
--------------------------------------------
+ + Mission 2 – "The Smog of War" + +
Deployment: 12" Short Edge Deployment
+ Scenario Rules
"The Hills Have Hives"
Before deployment, players alternate placing 6 Objective Markers, each more than 9" from any other Objective Marker.
Whenever a player scores an Objective Marker, that Objective immediately scatters 3D6" in a random direction.
If an Objective Marker scatters on top of another, both remain in play and may be controlled and scored separately.
If an Objective Marker scatters beyond the battlefield edge, continue moving it in the same direction until it re-enters from the opposite edge along the same trajectory line.
If, after resolving scatter and any wrap-around movement, the Objective Marker would finish within 9" of its starting position, instead place it at the point where it first re-entered the battlefield and end its movement there. Any remaining scatter distance is lost.
"Children in the Khorne"
After deployment, each player selects one unit with the BATTLELINE keyword to be their CULTISTS.
If that unit has the INFANTRY keyword, it gains the Stealth ability.
+ Mission Scoring:
At the start of each player’s Command Phase, score the following:
> 2VP for each Objective Marker that player controls.
> +1VP for each Objective Marker controlled by that player’s CULTISTS unit.
--------------------------------------------
+ + Mission 3 – "Friday the 41st" + +
Deployment: 24" Corner (Triangular) Deployment
+ Scenario Rules
"Final Designation"
Before deployment, each player selects one of their non-MONSTER, non-VEHICLE CHARACTER units to be their SLASHER.
A SLASHER cannot be attached to another unit.
The SLASHER gains the following abilities: Infiltrators, Lone Operative, and Feel No Pain (5+).
In addition, the SLASHER gains the following rule:
> "When this unit is destroyed, it is not removed from the battle. Instead, place it into Strategic Reserves with 1 fewer Wound remaining for each time it has been destroyed (to a minimum of 1). During your Reinforcements step, you may set it up again either:"
> "Wholly within a terrain feature and more than 6" from all enemy units, or"
> "More than 9" from all enemy units"
"Lambs to the Throne"
After deployment, each player selects one of their opponent’s BATTLELINE units to be their PREY.
A PREY unit cannot have any attached CHARACTERS.
If that unit has the INFANTRY keyword, it gains the Stealth ability.
+ Mission Scoring:
At the end of each player’s turn, score the following:
> 3VP if the opponent’s SLASHER was placed into Strategic Reserves by that player’s SLASHER.
> 6VP if the opponent’s SLASHER was placed into Strategic Reserves by that player’s PREY.
> 3VP if that player’s SLASHER destroyed one or more models from the opponent’s PREY this turn.
> 1VP if that player’s SLASHER has never been placed into Strategic Reserves.
> If that player’s PREY unit is still in play, score:
• 4VP while at Full Strength.
• 1VP while Below Starting Strength.
• 3VP while Below Half Strength.
• 8VP if only one model remains.

• Punctual & prudent.
• Respectful & restrained.
• Happy & hygienic.
Player Gear Requirements:
• All miniatures required to field your army.
• Dice & Tape Measure.
• Faction Rules Reference + Balance Sheet (indexes/warscrolls/codex/battletome/app)
+ + Army Construction and Army Lists + +
Armies must comply with the latest Errata & Matched Play requirements. All armies require a list for reference during play with points, detachments, unit sizes, options, artifacts, command traits, etc. present.
Lists for all players will be checked on the day against what has been submitted prior.
--------------------------------------------
+ + Miniature Representation + +
Models should all be easily recognisable as the unit they are listed as and WYSIWYG as much as possible for the sake of smooth gameplay and identification on the table. Weapon options have mild leniency if you can identify clearly the weapons that are intended to be used. (eg. In a squad, clearly the right ratios of matching weapon options for a 1-for-1 substitution)
+ + Converted/3rd Party/Scratch-built Units + +
Minis should be approximately the same height & size to their standard official counterpart & on the same base/same footprint (Soul Grinder etc.). If in doubt, contact the Tournament Organiser at least 1 week before the event and provide images with scale for reference.
--------------------------------------------
+ + Rules, Discrepancies, & Violations + +
If there is ever a rule in question; (discrepancy in list, representation of minis, misleading information, questionable errors, consistent misplay etc.), give the playing the benefit of the doubt as much as is reasonable. If this continues during play, if a rule/situation etc. is in doubt with differing opinion between players, call a Judge immediately for a ruling. Failure to do so may result in a warning for both parties for intentional stalling and not following procedure. In the case of slow-play, both parties must consent to the use of a chess-clock if one is requested to be used.
+ + Ticketing & Non-attendance Policy + +
Tickets are to be purchased before the date of the even from BHG in person or from the BHG webstore (link provided). Non-attendance will forfeit ticket refund if less than 48 hours notice is provided.
